The true abolition of slavery was achieved when the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified on December 6, 1865. The first section of the Amendment declares: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” The Amendment is unique in the Constitution because it bars every person from holding slaves or engaging in other forms of involuntary servitude, whereas most constitutional provisions only constrain or regulate the government. It is unique in another way as well: although the Constitution obliquely acknowledged and accommodated slavery in its original text, the Thirteenth Amendment was the first explicit mention of slavery in the Constitution. The most immediate impact of the Thirteenth Amendment was to end chattel slavery as it was practiced in the southern United States.

They listened as she taught them about her monthly transformations and introduced them to her friend, the sun, who shone brightly during the day. The moon also taught the stars a new game—a celestial dance where they twinkled together in harmony. The night sky became alive with laughter and joy as they played and learned from one another. The stars cherished their time with the moon, appreciating her gentle voice and wise insights.

For many days and nights, they sailed, until one day, they saw land in the distance! What could this new place be? Leif and his crew sailed closer and found a land with tall trees, and grapes growing on vines. Leif was so happy to see such a beautiful place that he named it Vinland, which means "Land of Wine." The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. He showed everyone that with bravery, a strong ship, and a little bit of adventure, you could discover incredible new places, even ones you didn’t expect! And that is how the Vikings and Leif Erickson became the first Europeans to reach North America.

Then in the next play one of Kevin’s friends passes the ball to Kevin and Kevin shoots the ball and misses. His friends tell him that he is bad and to get off the team. He shows him that he is going to be a great soccer player but only if he tried. Then he shows him how to get out of the dream world. And Kevin goes and rejoins the team and his friends apologize.

Sprite's story began long ago, during the days of pioneers and gold rushes. Back then, people traveled west in search of fortune and adventure. Among these travelers were miners who settled in the rugged Arizona landscape. There, they discovered the little creature with a vibrant tail that they called the ringtail cat. Sprite was special because he was cute and affectionate and incredibly skilled at keeping children safe when they traveled. They were pets to the miners and helped make life a little bit easier for the children in the Wild West. He lived at the Arizona Biltmore, a grand hotel nestled amidst the stunning desert landscape.

One sunny day, under a shady tree, sat Mango, Apple and Orange. The three of them were best friends who always played together. Green leaves swayed gently in the breeze, and birds happily chirped happily on the branches. Apple, who was picking a small flower from the grass, smiled excitedly. ‘Why don't we go explore that green meadow over there?’ she suggested, pointing towards the fresh green expanse stretching not far from under the tree where they were staying. Enthusiastically, the three of them walked towards the vast green meadow. The sun shone warmly above their heads, and beautiful flowers bloomed all around, creating a colourful scene. Every now and then they stopped to admire the fluttering butterflies. After walking for some distance, Mango's eyes suddenly caught sight of something glittering in the grass. ‘Look at that!’ she exclaimed, pointing. Apple and Orange rushed over to Mango. There, in the undergrowth, was a medium-sized, gold-coloured stone that glittered amongst the greenery. The stone was very beautiful, as if it had been chiselled by the hand of a god. ‘Let's take it back to our tree.’ However, when they tried to lift it, it was heavier than they thought. Mango and Orange pulled, Apple pushed the rock slowly. They struggled persistently. Although they were tired, they did not give up. They encouraged each other and laughed. Finally, after a tiring journey, they managed to carry the golden stone to the bottom of the tree where they stopped. When the stone was placed on the ground, it reflected beautifully. The three of them sat by the stone, enjoying the fruits of their labour. From that day on, the golden stone became a symbol of their friendship.
