1. John Jr and Vasi saw a show about gardening. It really sparked their interest. John Jr asked his mom if he and Vasi could plant a garden in backyard. She agreed and found a how to book on gardening for John Jr and Vasi. 2. John Jr got some of his allowance money and he and Vasi took off to the store. At the store John Jr and Vasi purchased cucumber, pepper, cantaloupe, radish and lettuce seeds. 3. John Jr and Vasi had to prep the ground for their garden. They had to till the soil to a depth of about 10 inches,add fertilizer to enrich the soil, Level the garden bed, and Water the soil well and let it settle for a few days. 4. A few days passed and John Jr and Vasi were ready to plant. They poked holes for the seeds, then placed seeds and covered dirt over seeds. After planting , they gave a nice watering to their garden. 5. John Jr and Vasi looked after and watered their garden daily. A few weeks went by and there was some buds sprouting. A few more weeks later there was fruit and vegetables starting to form. 6.. As summer was closing in, the fruit and veggies were ripe and in abundance. Haden Edwards received an empresario contract to settle 800 families near Nacogdoches. When he arrived with the families in the 1820s, he discovered people already lived there. They arrived long before Mexico gave him the grant. Edwards became very angry and tried to take over the town. The Mexican government did not support Edwards. Instead, they annulled his contract. Edwards stayed in the area and attempted to start a rebellion. On December 21, 1826, Edwards and his supporters claimed part of East Texas free and independent of Mexico. They named it the Republic of Fredonia. They even had support of the Cherokee in the area. However, most Anglo settlers in Texas did not support Haden’s rebellion. When a group of men from Austin’s colony joined with Mexican soldiers to march on Fredonia, Haden and his brother fled to the United States. The unrest caused Mexican leaders to rethink their immigration policies.

But only the kind and brave may enter." Arlo guided them deeper into the forest, where they faced small challenges. At one point, Lina solved a puzzle carved on a rock that unlocked a hidden gate. Another time, she helped a trapped bird untangle its wing from a vine, earning the gratitude of the forest creatures. Finally, they reached a clearing where a giant tree stood, its leaves glowing like fireflies. At the base of the tree was a pool of crystal-clear water. "This is the heart of the forest," Arlo said. "It grants wisdom and strength to those who respect its magic." Lina touched the water, and it shimmered. She didn’t make a wish but instead thanked the forest for its beauty and adventure. The tree glowed brighter, as if acknowledging her gratitude. As the sun began to set, Arlo led them back to the forest edge. "Remember, the magic of the forest lives in your kindness and courage," he said before disappearing into the shadows. Lina and her parents returned to their campsite, feeling inspired and closer than ever.
