Here are some buns for you to eat.” Aqma took the buns with a smile and said thank you then continued on his way. In the middle of continuing his walk, Aqma met a man who was struggling to carry a lot of luggage. “Hi, sir! Let me help you carry your stuff.” Aqma immediately helped carry the man's luggage. The man smiled as Aqma helped him carry his belongings home. With Aqma’s help, the man reached home. “Thank you, kid. Come rest and have a glass of water,” the man said. Aqma rested for a while and enjoyed the man’s hospitality. Arriving home to his surprise, Aqma’s house was swarming with people trying to put out the fire. Aqma was confused and shocked at the same time, he just remembered that when he was walking earlier he forgot to turn off the stove and now he had no place to stay. He just stood there looking at his house that was slowly disappearing. Aqma sat limply lamenting his fate, the only thing he could save was his body. From a distance, the people looked at his loneliness until without Aqma realizing it, the old lady and the man he helped earlier approached him “You can stay at my house, child,” the old lady said.“My home is always open if you’re hungry,” the man added. From that day on, Aqma remained grateful for the kindness of others and vowed to keep helping people every day.

The centipede waved a checkered flag to start the race. The beetle zoomed past the starting line as fast as he could, while the snail carefully inched herself forward bit by bit. The beetle cried out “You will never win this race at that slow, slow pace.” Out of breath from running, the beetle eventually reached a small pond of water. He thought, “I have plenty of time. I just will go around the pond.” The beetle sped off on his way. Inch by inch the snail crawled along the path. As she reached the pond, she thought, “It would be much shorter if I could somehow float across the water.” Perhaps I could build a boat. The snail gathered up some leaves, twigs and vine. She fashioned a small boat that helped her glide smoothly across the water of the pond. When she got to the other side, she hopped off the boat and could see all of her friends waiting for her at the finish line. Little by little the snail crept along the path until she crossed the finish line at long last. All of her friends cheered. “Hooray for snail!” they cried. A moment later the beetle came running across the finish line. “I can’t believe you beat me!” he said. “You know,” the snail replied with a smile, “being the fastest isn’t always everything”. “Sometimes if you just slow down for a moment and think about your challenge, you can come up with great solutions.”

The could just close their eyes when they turned the key and with their imaginations, would jump right back into the magical land. Grandma was happier than ever before and could do wonderful things. She swam with the mermaids and could even breathe like them under water! She was able to fly where she wanted when she would go on adventures with her fairy friends. The unicorns would always follow and whinny and dance around her with delight. Alec and Toria loved this land too but knew they could only visit once in a while. As they grew, they would visit their grandma, but less and less as there families grew. But they never forget and they always have their secret enchanted key to jump through the tree door anytime they wish. One day many years from now, they too will join their grandma for the magical adventures that await them beyond the tree door.
