On a warm evening in our small Philippine town, I sat under the soft glow of a single light bulb, my notebook open before me. Outside, the sound of neighbors sharing laughter and stories filled the air, reminding me of the simple joys and strong connections that defined my life. My name is Hannah Kate Nerona, a Grade 11 student, and this is the story of how my roots, experiences, and dreams have shaped the person I am becoming.

Tell me 1 thing you can taste: (1.The breakfast burrito from earlier that had eggs, bacon, and peppers…it didn’t taste that good, honestly, but I still ate it!) 11. Cyrus had calmed down! Mr.A asked him what happened and he told him. Mr.A heard him, helped him and walked with him to get water. 12. Later, Cyrus had some of the same thoughts come again in science class, but he remembered to think about his five senses!

The old cowboy's shave Time for this again:An old cowboy walks into a barbershop in Big Piney, Wyoming for a shave and a haircut.He tells the barber he can't get all his whiskers off because his cheeks are wrinkled from age. The barber gets a little wooden ball from a cup on the shelf and tells the old cowboy to put it inside his cheek to spread out the skin. When he's finished, the old cowboy tells the barber that was the cleanest shave he'd had in years, but he wanted to know what would have happened if he had accidentally swallowed that little ball? The barber replied "Just bring it back in a couple of days like everyone else does".

She takes a deep breath and steps confidently into the forest. Page 3: Scene 3 - Meeting the Forest Animals Scene Description: In the forest, Ishta meets a friendly squirrel and a wise old owl sitting on a branch. The squirrel is nibbling on a nut, and the owl has big, round glasses. Dialogue: Squirrel: “Hello! I’m Sammy the Squirrel. Welcome!” Owl: “And I’m Oliver the Owl. Be careful, young adventurer!” Character Actions: Ishta kneels down to talk to Sammy, grinning widely. She tilts her head curiously at Oliver, showing eagerness to learn. Page 4: Scene 4 - The Hidden Treasure Scene Description: Sammy and Oliver lead Ishta to a sparkling waterfall with a hidden cave behind it. The water reflects rainbows, and it looks magical. Dialogue: Ishta: “Wow! Is there treasure behind the waterfall?” Character Actions: Ishta jumps up and down excitedly, clapping her hands. Sammy points towards the cave, and Oliver flaps his wings with a wise look.

Use digital cartoons highlighting Black and American Indian children, but use all ethnicities through out the book.

Sam flies with Twinkle through the night sky, past the Moon and fluffy clouds, to the Land of Dreams. There, he sees colorful dream bubbles filled with children having wonderful adventures. Twinkle shows Sam his special dream bubble where he becomes the captain of a spaceship, exploring distant planets and meeting friendly aliens. Sam's mom finds him sleeping peacefully with a smile on his face. From that night on, Sam looks forward to bedtime, knowing that each night brings a new adventure in the Land of Dreams, guided by Twinkle, the Sleepy Star.
