Boy with Tourettes syndrome. Explaining what he wishes other people would understand on the first day of school to his class. Explain what tics are. A tic is an uncontrolled sudden, repetitive movement or sound that can be hard to control. Tics involving involve movements are called motor tics. Tics involving sounds are called vocal tics. Tics can be either simple or complex. The type of tics a person has may change over time. How often tics happen also may change. Tics often come and go and can get worse when a person is stressed or anxious. It's perfectly normal to worry that a tic may never go away. Fortunately, that's not usually the case. Most tics are temporary. They tend to not last more than 3 months at a time. Many times, people with a tic can think that their tic is the worst one ever. Of course it isn't, but it's still a concern for many people with tics. And those worries can cause unnecessary feelings of embarrassment and actually make the tic worse. Nobody wants to make tics worse, but is there any way to make them better? While you can't cure tics, you can take some easy steps to lessen their impact: Don't focus on it. If you know you have a tic, forget about it. Concentrating on it just makes it worse. Try to avoid stress-filled situations as much as you can — stress only makes tics worse. Get enough sleep. Being tired can makes tics worse. So make sure to get a full night's rest! Let it out! Holding back a tic can just turn it into a ticking bomb, waiting to explode. Have you ever felt a cough coming on and tried to avoid it? Didn't work out so well, did it? Chances are it was much worse. Tics are very similar. A tic? What tic? If a friend of yours has a tic, don't call attention to it. Chances are your friend knows the tic is there. Pointing it out only makes the person think about it more.

Benny the bunny loved playing in the meadow with his bright red balloon. He would toss it in the air, chase it through the grass, and watch it float above the flowers. But one windy afternoon, a big gust carried Benny’s balloon high into the sky and far, far away. “Oh no! My balloon!” Benny cried, hopping after it. He searched near the big oak tree, around the sparkling pond, and even under the berry bushes, but the balloon was nowhere to be found. Just as he was about to give up, his friend Mia the mouse scurried over. “What’s wrong, Benny?” she asked. “My balloon is gone,” Benny sighed. “I’ll never find it.” Mia thought for a moment and then squeaked, “Let’s look together!” So Benny and Mia searched side by side. Along the way, they met Ollie the owl. “I saw something red floating toward the hill,” Ollie hooted. “Maybe that’s your balloon!” Benny’s ears perked up. “Come on, let’s go!” They ran toward the hill and found Finn the fox watching something bob in the branches of a tall tree. “Is that your balloon?” Finn asked, pointing with his fluffy tail. Benny’s eyes lit up. “It is!” But the tree was too tall for Benny, Mia, or Finn to climb. Just then, Ollie flapped his strong wings and flew up to the highest branch. Carefully, he nudged the balloon free, and it floated gently down into Benny’s paws. “Thank you, everyone!” Benny beamed. “I thought I lost my balloon, but I found something even better—friends who help each other!” Mia, Ollie, and Finn all smiled. They spent the rest of the day playing together, knowing that friendship was even more special than a red balloon.

Here are some buns for you to eat.” Aqma took the buns with a smile and said thank you then continued on his way. In the middle of continuing his walk, Aqma met a man who was struggling to carry a lot of luggage. “Hi, sir! Let me help you carry your stuff.” Aqma immediately helped carry the man's luggage. The man smiled as Aqma helped him carry his belongings home. With Aqma’s help, the man reached home. “Thank you, kid. Come rest and have a glass of water,” the man said. Aqma rested for a while and enjoyed the man’s hospitality. Arriving home to his surprise, Aqma’s house was swarming with people trying to put out the fire. Aqma was confused and shocked at the same time, he just remembered that when he was walking earlier he forgot to turn off the stove and now he had no place to stay. He just stood there looking at his house that was slowly disappearing. Aqma sat limply lamenting his fate, the only thing he could save was his body. From a distance, the people looked at his loneliness until without Aqma realizing it, the old lady and the man he helped earlier approached him “You can stay at my house, child,” the old lady said.“My home is always open if you’re hungry,” the man added. From that day on, Aqma remained grateful for the kindness of others and vowed to keep helping people every day.

Jelly-Bean is a little girl who is sad one day so she decided to go on a walk and meets a purple butterfly. They walk a trail by Jelly-Beans house and take a break at a pic-nic table. Jelly bean starts to cry and tells the butterfly she doesn’t feel happy. The butterfly makes Jelly-Bean feel better by telling her it’s okay to be sad sometimes all you have to do is think of things that make you happy. Jelly-Bean remembers happy memories with her family and feels better. The butterfly tells her if she ever needs her to look in the sky and she will be there. Jelly-Bean thanks the butterfly for helping her feel better. Jelly-Bean goes home and hugs her mom.

The next morning, the First Laborer arrived early and began digging holes for planting, aiming to finish his task quickly. Later, the Second Laborer arrived and, seeing the dug holes, decided to fill them back in to complete his job. When the Gardener arrived, he was shocked to find no trees planted. The laborers explained that they didn't know how to plant trees, as only the Gardener knew which trees to plant, where to plant them, and how to care for them. The Gardener realized that without his guidance, all their hard work was wasted. The story teaches that proper guidance is essential for success.
